Broadstairs

Broadstairs Seaside Steps

I finally got to Broadstairs, in east Kent, about 130km east of London for a visit with my brother-in-law and nephew. What a beautiful place! It’s a tourist spot full of nostalgic, old-world, seaside charm. We had a great visit, great hospitality and more walking and street photography.

Broadstairs was Charles Dickens’ favourite holiday spot. There is a misconception that he lived there. We even passed a tour group where we heard the guide tell them Dickens lived there. Should have seen my brother-in-law’s eyes roll. It was pretty hilarious.

Broadstairs. Loved it.

WE ARE ALL TREATY PEOPLE.

In the spirit of Reconciliation, we acknowledge that the land upon which we gather is unceded Mi’kmaq territory. Epekwitk (Prince Edward Island), Mi’kma’ki, is covered by the historic Treaties of Peace and Friendship. We pay our respects to the Indigenous Mi’kmaq People who have occupied this Island for over 12,000 years; past, present and future.
