A Day at the Tignish Fisheries

Tignish Fisheries

Great day today in Tignish located on Prince Edward Island’s North Cape. The Tignish Fisheries Co-op is situated on the harbour and is home to the largest inshore fishing fleet on Prince Edward Island. Blair and I had a meeting with our client, Royal Star Foods. Their products are harvested from the pristine, natural surroundings of the cold, clear, unpolluted waters of the north west Atlantic Ocean. Fishing is a huge part of PEI’s culture and heritage, and we are very proud of it. We took some photos for their website and once we got started we couldn’t stop.

WE ARE ALL TREATY PEOPLE.

In the spirit of Reconciliation, we acknowledge that the land upon which we gather is unceded Mi’kmaq territory. Epekwitk (Prince Edward Island), Mi’kma’ki, is covered by the historic Treaties of Peace and Friendship. We pay our respects to the Indigenous Mi’kmaq People who have occupied this Island for over 12,000 years; past, present and future.
