I saw these chicken sweaters online a while back and got this crazy idea for a portrait. We moved to rural Prince Edward Island in 2009 and still find humour in everyday life here. I refer to it as my life in rubber boots. One of our barns collapsed years ago and I knew I wanted to use it as a backdrop for a portrait conveying a comedic look at life on the farm.
Stephanie and Shawn love country living and wanted a maternity photo. I do not normally shoot maternity and I wanted to do something a little different. We had so much fun shooting this. The outtakes are hilarious. A huge Thank You to Roberta MacLean who knit me up this chicken sweater and bow tie, and to Shawn and Stephanie for posing.
