Charlottetown Festival, Jesus Christ Superstar

Jesus Christ Superstar

Charlottetown Festival, Jesus Christ Superstar

I absolutely love the theatre and shooting promotional work, so I was honoured to be asked to do the photos for the Charlottetown Festival again this year. When I met with the client to discuss this year’s lineup and found out they were doing the rock opera Jesus Christ Superstar I was so excited about getting to shoot it.

I had this shot in mind from the start. I felt a tight, cropped shot, straight on, with this lighting would be powerful. We did a pre-shoot for brainstorming and setup so on shoot day everything went super smooth. I love being prepared.

Working with the crew at the Confederation Centre is incredible. Having so much help and getting to work with experts in all aspects of the theatre is inspiring. Being a photographer can be a very solitary experience, so being surrounded by all of these great creative and technical people and having them involved in the process is incredible.

Visit the Confederation Centre of the Arts website for more information.

WE ARE ALL TREATY PEOPLE.

In the spirit of Reconciliation, we acknowledge that the land upon which we gather is unceded Mi’kmaq territory. Epekwitk (Prince Edward Island), Mi’kma’ki, is covered by the historic Treaties of Peace and Friendship. We pay our respects to the Indigenous Mi’kmaq People who have occupied this Island for over 12,000 years; past, present and future.
