Laurier

Heather Ogg - Laurier Tour

Portraits, studio lights, a large theatre location, experienced actors. It doesn’t get any better.

I was asked to do some promotional theatre photography for Laurier: Visionary. Radical. Canadian., an original theatrical piece presented by the Confederation Centre of the Arts, in partnership wth Theatre New Brunswick. It was a great shoot with some really great people, actors Christy Adamson and Byron Abalos. The space was great, an empty theatre. It was so awesome to have all that space to work in.

The theme of Canadian identity is explored through the speeches of Canada’s seventh Prime Minister, Sir Wilfrid Laurier. Created and directed by Thomas Morgan Jones, the play looks back on our past and the accomplishments of Laurier himself while simultaneously looking forward to our future. Set to original music, this highly physical performance is an inspirational blend of movement and sound that complement the insightful words of this celebrated leader.

WE ARE ALL TREATY PEOPLE.

In the spirit of Reconciliation, we acknowledge that the land upon which we gather is unceded Mi’kmaq territory. Epekwitk (Prince Edward Island), Mi’kma’ki, is covered by the historic Treaties of Peace and Friendship. We pay our respects to the Indigenous Mi’kmaq People who have occupied this Island for over 12,000 years; past, present and future.
