I really don’t do nearly enough session work. When I lived in Montreal that was the only type of photography I did and I loved it. When I moved to Prince Edward Island I started doing commercial work and I love that too. But every once and a while I take on a session and have so much fun! I think it’s because I love people and there’s so much going on, and you are really photographing love. Whether you are photographing families, babies, dogs, it’s all about the love and I am all over that. I was asked to do a family portrait of the O’Neil clan during their PEI vacation this year. Well family portraits mean different things to different people. To me, it’s not some static photo of posed people saying “cheeeese”. Families are busy. Families are messy. Families are chaotic, loving and fun and have lots of character. A family portrait session should capture all that. And it was easy with the O’Neils. I had a blast. A huge thank you Cheryl, Don, Pat, Anne, Cathy, Jamie, Karen, Sean, Calli, Matthew, Colin and William! You are an awesome family and it was a total blast.
