PEI Loves Boston

boston loves pei

Running is huge here on Prince Edward Island. I sometimes wonder if we are the runningest province in Canada per capita. The running community on PEI is very close and I am so grateful to live here, to know these people, and be part of it. Last week I did a photo shoot and asked some of the great runners here to be in it. What an opportunity for me both as a photographer and runner. All of them have run the Boston Marathon so of course I had to have them pose in their Boston gear for a portrait. What happened in Boston this year changed the running community forever, and because of it runners everywhere are closer than ever before. A huge thank you to my friends, runners Dianne Watts-Pye, Michael Gaudet, Stan Chaisson, and Jennifer Nicholson.

How many people on PEI have run the Boston Marathon?

Are you a PEI runner? Have you or some one you know run the Boston Marathon? Please let me know by leaving a comment. Thanks!

WE ARE ALL TREATY PEOPLE.

In the spirit of Reconciliation, we acknowledge that the land upon which we gather is unceded Mi’kmaq territory. Epekwitk (Prince Edward Island), Mi’kma’ki, is covered by the historic Treaties of Peace and Friendship. We pay our respects to the Indigenous Mi’kmaq People who have occupied this Island for over 12,000 years; past, present and future.
