After 18 weeks of training for the Halifax Bluenose and Ottawa Marathons our running group has started tapering. After our last speed training session last night at the UPEI Canada Games track it suddenly hit me that all the hard training was done. Here we are. I felt a bit in shock, and excited and sad all at once. As always, training with a great bunch of positive people full of endorphins is a fantastic experience I cannot recommend highly enough. I will be posting about the whole experience in a few weeks, however at this time I would like to post some of my favourite running mantras to encourage and inspire my running buddies The Hard Core Hottie Boo Boos before their races. Running is a very mental sport. You need to be physically ready, but it’s your mental strength and character that will get you to the finish line. Running mantras are what can carry you through the tough bits on race day.
