I spent the summer photographing walkers and cyclists for The Island Walk: 32 sections over 700 km. It was a ton of work but being a hiker myself, I loved every minute of it.
The Island Walk is a 700 km walking trail that loops around the outer perimeter of PEI, with a mix of inland and coastal sections. It takes approximately 32 days to complete if you walk 20-25 kilometres per day. I had a blast meeting all these great people and working with my incredible team to make it all happen. The Island Walk has received and incredible amount of attention, the degree to which took us all a little by surprise.
My work… in National Geographic. It doesn’t get better than that!
It was a total surprise when my team said that NatGeo wanted to see my images and I started talking with them. They loved them, that was the most wonderful part for me. Plus that as a photographer it’s a dream come true to be in National Geographic, right? Here is the article they wrote about The Island Walk: An epic pilgrimage trail circles Prince Edward Island.
